Symbolism is something that can represent multiple quantities of things is an object or a character. In the story A Rose for Emily the rose was symbolic because it represents love and secrecy. To Miss Emily Homer Barron represented a rose. Homer Barron was her love and a secret to Miss Emily. Miss Emily had loved Homer Barron ever since he met her, but she kept it a secret. The American flag also represents the symbolism that represents our country just as the American eagle represents freedom for our country. Each color on our flag represents something and the stripes represent each thirteenth colony. This story has a lot of symbolism. There are many characters and symbolic objects.
