Doves“I am convinced that killing under the cloak of war is nothing more than an act of murder”, Albert Einstein. The Vietnam War was a war America didn't need. America believed they were doing good. They believed they were protecting the people of Vietnam. America didn't realize they were just making a bad situation worse. America stopped nothing. They didn't stop communism; they did not save the people of Vietnam. America increased the death toll in Vietnam and killed its own people. They caused disease and destroyed the environment with the help of Agent Orange. America sent soldiers on missions resulting in hundreds of civilians being murdered. America didn't help anyone. America sent people to kill others and be killed in the line of duty. The French were forced to leave Vietnam and Vietnam was divided between communists and anti-communists. The communist regime controlled North Vietnam. Those who supported the French and were against communism controlled South Vietnam. Then communist supporters trained from the north, the Viet Cong, began to arrive in the south. America decided that it wanted to stop the spread of communism by stopping communism in Vietnam. The United States believed in the domino theory. The Domino Theory is the theory that communism will continue to spread around the world unless it is stopped. America sent soldiers to Vietnam to help the South fight against the North. Then American ships were allegedly attacked along the coast of Vietnam. It was then that the United States officially entered the war. The Vietnam War was a war with many unnecessary casualties and injuries. The United States entered the Vietnam War and raised the stakes. Now South Vietnam... in the center of the card... They believe they have to fight to save the others. Their fights can lead to many serious circumstances. Their faith in saving can lead to casualties, illnesses and the murder of innocent lives. America needs to revise its definition of saving because it did not save the people of Vietnam. Works CitedAgent Orange. (n.d.).
