When comparing the Peasants' Revolt of 1381 to Cade's Revolt of 1450, there are many apparent explanations as to why the two historical revolts they are so easily comparable. Both of these medieval revolts began due to government corruption and abuse of power. In the case of the Peasants' Revolt of 1381, the peasants and workers of the lower classes were exploited due to the decreasing population. Likewise, during the Cade Rebellion, the government had gone too far. It is evident, however, in both situations that the main differences were the people who chose to take a stand, as well as their motivations and their ultimate goals. The Peasants' Revolt of 1381 was due to many different economic and political tensions in the country. 14th century. Without many workers to continue business as usual, the English parliament felt the need to create a law to crack down on workers primarily by limiting wages. This act was entitled the Workers' Statute of 1351. The Workers' Statute is a vital part of understanding and analyzing the Peasants' Revolt of 1381. The statute created a new law in which workers were only to be paid annually, rather than on a daily basis. or on a weekly basis.
