I am fully aware of the responsibilities I would take on if I were to help a patient who is also struggling with this disorder. Listening to what these patients often hear has taught me that it's not just someone being "crazy," but it's actually an illness that attacks someone mentally. My perspective has changed and I realize how vulnerable these individuals are and that when people mistreat them, which often happens, things get much worse. I believe it is my job to reach out to these victims and assist them as much as possible. As a therapist, you don't just have one type of person you will assist. There will be times when you are not fully prepared to assist everyone, but it is simply your job to assist and gather as much information or necessary resources as possible to help them
