Did you make a mistake? Well, the United States made a big mistake on April 17, 1961. The mistake was a secret mission organized by the CIA that was approved by President John F. Kennedy. The intent of the mission was to overthrow some of Castro's officials because the United States was concerned about Cuba's growing relations with the Soviet Union. The US government provided B-52 bombers for the mission. The Cuban Mafia and the Cuban Revolutionary Forces were all part of the mission. The mission was a complete failure, a few days after departure Castro's forces surrounded all the fighters and captured them; Most of the fighters were sent back to the United States. The relationship between Cuba and the Soviet Union became even stronger than before. The Cold War was a war in which no shots were fired between the United States and the Soviet Union. There were episodes of nuclear war going back and forth between the Soviets and the United States. A US spy plane captured images of nuclear missile sites on Cuban soil, which many believe was the result of the US invasion of Cuba during the Bay of Pigs. . The Bay of Pigs resulted in bad relations between the United States and Cuba, the Cuban Missile Crisis, and a huge mistake on the part of the United States. One of the major effects of the Bay of Pigs was the relationship between the United States and Cuba. One of the two main consequences was trade between the two countries. Before the secret military mission, the trade embargo with Cuba had already begun, banning everything except food and medicine. But after the mission, tension grew even more and all the imports were nowhere to be found. In today's society most people believe that the trade ban with Cuba should be lifted.
