The coastal areas have a mild climate, while the Anatolian plateau has hot, dry summers and cold winters with limited rainfall. Both the Aegean and Mediterranean coasts have cool, rainy winters and warm, moderately dry summers (Sensoy). Turkey is surrounded by the Black Sea, the Mediterranean Sea, the Aegean Sea, Syria, Iraq, Iran, Armenia, Georgia, Bulgaria and Greece. It is a member of the United Nations (UN), the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) and the G-20 summit. 20% of the Turkish population lives in Istanbul. Infrastructure development exists along the Aegean coast to the west and along the Tigris and Euphrates river systems to the southeast (Middle East: Turkey). Turkey is undoubtedly one of the most culturally diverse nations in the world thanks to its geographical influences and rich historical experience. The culture in Türkiye is constantly evolving and becoming more and more in-depth due to all these influences. There are currently still tensions between parties in Türkiye which would lead to a major cultural shift, as the conflict would intensify if power changed. Although some Turkish traditions have remained the same, little things have changed to make the overall culture distinct
