TheologyI. Introduction: The reflection paper I will discuss touches on some important topics for me that were outlined in the first four weeks of this Course. I would like to discuss two topics that have proven relevant to me: Mind, Reason and Logic and, above all, Faith and Heart. I would like to begin by emphasizing that I am in a continuous daily process of improving my beliefs and striving for my faith to become stronger every day. Basically, the readings would not serve to be prudent if one did not become spiritually aroused in some way II Reasona) Theological Definition: The Bible defines reason as the cause, foundation, principle, or motive of anything said or done; what supports or justifies a determination, a measurement plan. (KJV)b) Biblical Application: God wants us to use reason and logic to be certain of His existence. Isaiah 1:18 - Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; even if they were red like crimson, they will become like wool. For the Christian, this implies that our sins can be erased and become sins through his salvation. If a Christian did not apply these tools we would never understand his Authority. There is a discourse that certainly uses reason as validation of God's word. But understanding his word correctly would make perfect sense. God wants us to use our brains, he tells us. There is a logic applied when you study theology and want to conform to Christian ways. The message is to understand biblical faith. This is simple, we already know the Bible and Jesus are true.c Practical Application: This topic speaks volumes to me. It is important for... half of the paper... to attribute this to the readings and context of the work. Up to this point I've learned that we all have trials and can sometimes weather some pretty bad waves. But one thing I've learned is that I'm not alone. First, I have my Bible, which I can always turn to for comfort. This is the difference between staying with your faith and giving up because of the way nature lets us know that we are merely human and that things can happen. One of the most rewarding moments was having colleagues whose religious affiliation I would never have known talk to me about personal issues and not feel uncomfortable at all. The old saying that the pain of the heart is evident, perhaps when we believe we are showing our heart too REFERENCES: Towns, Elmer, "Core Christianity" Published by AMG Publication, Copyright, 2007
