Egypt was a trading center. “Egyptians and their trading partners sailed along the Nile River to trade their goods, but also sometimes traveled to and from the eastern or western deserts” (Egypt-Trade). By trading with other nations, they allowed themselves to establish diplomatic relations with them. Trade also stimulated the Egyptian economy, as “trade influence[ed] all social classes in Egypt because so many different types of resources were traded” (Egypt-Trade). The Egyptian trading model is still widely used today by all nations of the world. It is simple from an economic perspective that everyone will benefit from the import and export of goods, and that is what the ancient Egyptians understood. This is still widely used today, for example a visit to any of the US ports will show an influx of foreign trade. Overall, Mesopotamia and Egypt made some of the most important contributions to the modern world. Both of these ancient civilizations made different, but somewhat similar, contributions to the future of the world. Both extremely important, however I believe that Mesopotamia provided the most tangible contributions to the future of the world that we could build on, while Egypt provided us with more philosophical contributions.
