The Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange (KLSE) or more commonly known as Bursa Malaysia is a stock exchange holding company approved under Section 15 of the Capital Markets and Services Act 2007. It operates a fully integrated stock exchange, offering the full range of foreign exchange-related services, including trading, clearing, settlement and custodian services. In 1930 the Singapore Stockbrokers' Association was founded to operate the first formal securities business in Malaysia. It was later re-registered as the Malayan Stockbrokers' Association in 1937. In 1960, the Malaysian Stock Exchange was established and public trading of shares began. Bursa Malaysia is a significant entity in the Malaysian capital market. Bursa Malaysia is a very influential financial institution in Malaysia that has acted as the main reference in the country's stock and capital markets. (Alilarocha, 2011).
