Politicians and citizens have fervently debated congressional term limits for years; the issue has given rise to numerous legislative proposals, however few have obtained the support of the government or the population. However, the well-being of the nation needs this reform, because it will bring progress, efficiency and greater dedication to the American people. The legislative branch is where ideas are created and put into action. By imposing term limits, the American people can ensure they rely on only the most intellectually elite, selfless, and responsible leaders to cultivate and promote these ideas. We need to give new people the chance to spread progressive ideas and challenge the ideals of venal legislation. These needs can be met most quickly and efficiently through the implementation of congressional term limits. Tenure restrictions will have the power to give Congress renewed and more effective members. By implementing congressional term limits, the government ensures it has a legislative branch that works to maintain the visions of the founding fathers. The founding fathers manipulated the rules of government to make their creation answer to the people and not the other way around; Due to their results and reliability, it is very beneficial to stick to their original plans. However, like all humans, they failed to see how much society would change in the centuries to come. Today's government has obviously strayed from its path because the founders were unable to impose such farsighted restrictions. To get them back on track, it is essential that they institute the necessary rules long ago. The Founding Fathers never... middle of paper... can only make Congress worse. " The New York Times.
