Religion is an organized set of beliefs and worldviews that connects humanity to an orderly existence, to why we are here. Many different symbols that are intended to explain the meaning of life, existence and explain the origin of the universe. Religion is different from their beliefs about the cosmos and human nature. There are many different religions in the world and many different beliefs. There are many religions that have lasted through brutal wars and many different religious wars called crusades. The Egyptian religion guided everything in Egypt. The Egyptians believed in many different gods such as Osiris who is the god of vegetation and the underworld. This means they are polytheists, meaning they believed in many gods. They had more than 2,000 gods and goddesses and perhaps many more. Egypt has many different beliefs and rituals that were part of the ancient Egyptians' society, such as the afterlife ceremony. The Egyptians could interact with multiple different gods and goddesses, who believed they were present and controlled nature and life. The myths of the gods were intended to explain why they were here and why the different forces were here. Religion was to provide for them and give them their favor. Mummification was one of several types of rituals that were part of ancient Egyptian society. Mummification is a type of preservation of the dead practiced by the ancient Egyptians. Mummies were placed in tombs or pyramids. The Egyptians also believed that what you put into the pyramids, they could take with them to the afterlife as gold, food, and even slaves.
