Christians believe that Jesus Christ was sent to Earth to fulfill Old Testament prophecies. Christians believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross and was resurrected three days later. Jesus Christ ascended into heaven after the third day and now sits at the right hand of God the Father in Heaven. As Christians, we await the day when Jesus Christ returns to judge both the living and the dead. But, before judgment day arrives, we are called to “go and make disciples of all peoples” (Bible). The previous verse mentioned means that, as Christians, we must spread the gospel, the good news of Jesus Christ, to everyone and give them the opportunity to accept the Christian faith and have eternal life in Heaven when Jesus Christ returns. I was born into the Christian faith, although I didn't have a church to call home until I was four. My mother was raised in the Catholic Church, my father was influenced by the Baptist Church, and I was raised in the Lutheran Church; growing up, I got to experience these three different denominations of Christianity. Even though I was born into the Christian faith, I stayed by my own choice. I am proud to call myself a Christian! Each denomination of Christianity is unique in some way. Each denomination views the Bible as sacred text, believes that Jesus Christ is the son of God and died for our sins, and believes in the Triune God (the father, the son, and the Holy Spirit). Differences between denominations of Christianity range from interpretation of the Bible to the holy sacraments of baptism and communion. I have been influenced by three denominations of Christianity; these denominations are the Catholic Church, the Baptist Church and the Lutheran Church. The Catholic Church......center of card......in Jesus Christ has conquered sin for all and the desire to be like Jesus Christ to the best of our abilities. I am a Christian, I am a Lutheran, and one day I will be the director of Christian Education where I hope to help others understand what it truly means to be a Christian! Works CitedGage, Matthew B.
