The Vision and Mission of the Organization“Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu (also known by the brand name Deloitte or Deloitte Consulting) is one of the Big Four, a group of the largest international public accounting firms , and the second largest professional services firm in the world after PricewaterhouseCoopers. At $16.4 billion, it achieved the highest revenue among the Big Four in 2004." (Deloitte Definitions on the Web) Deloitte Consulting is part of a much larger and more complex Human Resources system. However, each system has subdivisions where each division can act as its own complex HR system. We have HR staff who monitor each division independently. Within Deloitte Consulting, I am part of the Oracle financial consulting program; in depth and I will discuss its complexity in terms of human resources. Oracle is currently the fastest growing division within Deloitte Consulting, which has both advantages and disadvantages to identify a topic that has gained increased attention among managers throughout our organization. We have a diverse organization that enables equal employment opportunity programs for women, minorities, gays, people with disabilities and seniors. Deloitte has a diverse American workforce that represents the entire identity of a diverse organization; however we still face several diversity issues, which primarily amount to human resource management issues. An existing organizational problem related to HR “We see a rapidly evolving group of employees that is becoming more diverse by the day. The accelerated growth of diversity in the workforce over the past 20 years has generated new developments in employee relations management, making it one of the biggest challenges managers face” (Maidment, 96). I am positioned in the technology integration division of Deloitte Consulting as part of the Oracle Financial Consulting program. However, our group is growing significantly with many new opportunities for graduates and more experienced analysts. Since the current market is scarce with experienced hires, which results in HR hiring young, out-of-college resources who have partial or no experience, it is making us experience age diversity within our organization . The problem is that work for functional consultants has grown rapidly and we are currently unable to support all projects with “skilled” hires. So the problem is not the young recruits, but the lack of training they receive before being put into the field.
