Then he tried to deal with the fact that poor illiterate whites believed themselves superior to him (DuBois 416). From there he met former slaves and heard "black" stories and experiences. WEB DuBois was a great fighter for the people, a true scientist, thinker and humanist. He held high a bright torch of poetic inspiration that lights the way and illuminates the path of all those who fight for freedom. The questions that DuBois asked and faced over a long and arduous life of relentless service and dedication to the cause of freedom for people of color are still challenging answers today. The Negro race, like all races, will be saved by its leaders. The problem is that the education of blacks must concern first and foremost the poorly educated. The problem is death in their own race. DuBois is trying to get blacks to gain political power and that is how there will be growth of blacks in America. DuBois appeared at the wrong time in history. The movement could have been appreciated and instilled pride in black people today. True awareness developed too late for him or anyone else in that time period to see it
