Remember those days when you come home and your mother isn't home and you're hungry but there's nothing to eat? Or just when you're just starving? Well, imagine having that feeling every day of your life, that's how people living in poverty feel every day. Think about how you would feel if you saw a loved one die before your eyes and knew there was nothing you could do to help them—perhaps it happened to a child whose mother had to watch. It would always be in her memories haunting her for the rest of her life. World poverty and hunger are major epidemics in the world today, we must increase public awareness. I think this problem will only get worse over the years unless we, as people, do something. When you really think about how the poor live, it makes you want to appreciate what you have a little more, at least that's how it is for me. Almost half of the world's population lives in poverty, three billion people live on less than three dollars a day, 80% of the entire world population lives on less than ten dollars a day, that is, almost three-quarters of the world's population. 40% of the world's population lives on 5% of global income. then there is the richest 20% of the world's population who live on 40% of global income. UNICEF says 22,000 children die due to poverty. When I say reasons related to poverty I mean hunger, malnutrition, dehydration, malaria and other diseases. Most children die in the poorest villages in the world, the ones no one hears about on the news. Being weak makes these deaths even more discreet than they already are. There are some incredibly generous people out there, one of these people is called Heifer, Susan Sarandon. He traveled to Cambodia to see the heifers working in person, he was watching it as he worked for the passing gift ceremony where families who are able to get their own food, give their female offspring of the cattle to the poor. Susan says it was a moving experience. World poverty and hunger are major epidemics in the world and we need to increase public awareness. hundreds of thousands of people die every day from disease and hunger. We as human beings must help each other, as they are suffering we must be aware of what is right in front of our eyes. the death toll from hunger is astonishing. It makes me appreciate what I have.
