Danica Patrick, is a name commonly heard when talking about women competing in the sport. Danica Patrick rose to fame trying to be the fastest driver in NASCAR. Even before Danica there have been a total of 18 women who have competed in NASCAR (yahoosports). Many of these women are never really talked about, but now there's a new one on the track, and she's making history with every lap of her race called life. In every race there must be a starting line which is a real statement for Danica Patrick. Danica Patrick began her race we call life on March 5, 1982, in Beloit, Wisconsin. As Danica grew up, she watched her father TJ Patrick run. When she turned 10, Danica and her sister started racing go karts. While Danica was in high school at Hononehah High in Rosecoe, Danica was a cheerleader. Furthermore, while still at high school in England, he dropped out to pursue a racing career. (Bio.com) Now she was going full speed ahead to become NASCAR's next woman. The common thought of a woman is a lady who says she is home, cooking and cleaning, and that is all that is needed. Well, Danica didn't find this track to be the race of her life. “You can do whatever you want and gender doesn't matter.” ( Danica Patrick) In 2002 Danica signed with Rahahl-Letterman Racing, which gave her some momentum in her career. In 2003 Danica placed 10th in the Pro Drive Ferrari Team. In 2005, Danica was the fourth woman to race the Indianapolis 500. Shortly thereafter, in 2005, Danica became the first Indy car driver to appear on the cover of Sports Illustrated since Al Unser in 1987. Many of NASCAR's top competitors were against Danica racing. . While other pilots were making smart-ass comments about Danica, she was becoming Rookie of... middle of paper... dividing line in life; we find what our passion is and that's what pushes us to the finish line. Danica rose to fame by trying to be the fastest racer. Now Danica is still in the race of her life and is making history with every lap, and she's going full speed towards the finish line.
